Douglas

New addition to the family and you have big shoes to fill. We lost our dog, Rusty a few weeks ago and we were not ready for it, he was a big part of the family and was always there. He loved a ball but most of all he loved all of us, he had a great nature only wanting affection and to be beside us every second of the day.

You couldn’t pat Rusty without him at least getting one lick on you. You will be forever missed mate and we will always compare different attributes to Douglas. If he is half the dog you were in his mannerisms, I will be happy. You were and always will be loved by all of us.

Life is to short to not enjoy every moment, I enjoy the company that we get out of our little furry friends. There are so many wonderful memories from so many different pets that I have had over the years that although they leave a sad place in my heart the energy that they bring is priceless.

So we started our search for a new addition, we really like the poodle bread and mixes you can do with them, also the fact that they don’t drop hair everywhere. We looked at a few bigger dogs but would not suit our current situation also some smaller ones. The ideal size for us is around 10kgs fully grown, easy to travel with and can play without it being able to knock the kids over. We found Douglas which ticked all the boxes.

It’s great to see the kids all competing for his attention and although it’s early days and adds another level of work for us getting him through his puppy stage, he has signs of being a great friend. you got Lucky Douglas you couldn’t of got picked with a more loving family that will teach you and enjoy your time together. You will have times that you will be dressed up in baby clothes when Indi uses you as a toy, you will be told secrets from each kid and all you have to do is listen and give hugs. You will go on great adventures and get us out of the house for walks, if you bark at your shadow in the middle of the night, I will get up and check the perimeter of the house just in case. Whatever happens you are now part of my family.
